Time flies....

.... when you're building a house! Well, actually that's a lie. It seems as if we've been waiting for years for our home to be completed but now that we are approaching the last couple of weeks, holy cow, it's all coming SO fast! The reality is finally hitting me. In about two weeks we will be LIVING in our NEW home!

This past week I've been so busy calling the electric company, the gas company, the water company, the trash company, and our home owners insurance agency to ensure that everything will be all set once we close! I need to start a list of the other places I need to call so I don't forget!

Yesterday was an exciting day. Ryan, Claire, and I went to Phoenix and did some serious furniture shopping. We got a complete living room set (coffee table, end tables, and a sofa table- the table that goes behind your couch) and the night stands that match our bedroom set. We never purchased them before because we never had a big enough room for a queen sized bed plus two nightstands so we said to heck with it. But now that we do have the extra space, it was a very exciting purchase for us! We also got a beautiful dining room set that seats 6 people (so if you want to come for dinner, come on over, we've got the space!) and two bar stools to match. I am so very excited to see the house come together with all of these new things! I'll post pictures as I start to decorate!

Today we went over to the house to check on the progress. Again, holy cow!  The tile had been grouted, the carpet had been laid, the light fixtures are in, and all of the hardware is up. The cleaning crew was over there cleaning up the messes that the workers had left and just making everything look so nice and clean! The AC people were there testing out the cooling system. The landscapers were laying the pavers for our driveway and entry way and they had planted our trees and and bushes. We chose lilac bushes and some evergreen type pants and then two trees. One is a Newport Flowering Plum and I forgot what the other one will be. I imagine the final touches will go in over the next couple of days. I will try to post some pictures on my next entry.

So, now it's Thursday and it seems as if our "weekend" just flew by. It was a nice one though, so I can't complain. Charly and Naomi (his girlfriend) came over for dinner tonight... Well, Naomi spent the day with Claire and I and then Charly joined us later for dinner. It's always nice to spend time with the two of them and Claire just loves them to pieces. Now Claire is sleeping soundly and I think for once I will try to go to bed before 10 so I can regain some of this lost energy! Thanks for checking back and we'll see y'all next time!
